The Food
Oh, the food!
(OMG, has it really been a month already since we were on vacation?!)
During our trip, we really made it a point to not eat at establishments where we could eat regularly (i.e. fast food restaurants, Denny’s, etc). Because we had a fully functional kitchen in our cabin, we had breakfast at “home” before leaving for our adventures every day. We also bought a few quick meals like stuff for sandwiches and microwavable mac ‘n cheese in case we got hungry in the late evenings. But the rest of the time we ate out at places unique to our vacation.
Our first day, we had a late lunch at The Troll Tavern. This pub-like restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is right on the riverside, along the Chattahoochee River. The food was pretty good, and the ambiance was very laid back. The staff was super friendly too. A little blogger trivia: after getting back from our trip, I found out that the bloggers who’d attend the annual blogmeet known as the Southeast Writer’s Conference would gather at the Troll Tavern.
We went to Michaelee’s on the second day, and to me, that was the most memorable of all our meals. See for yourself:
